Yaoyinggou Meeting

Yaoyinggou Meeting

Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- March 27 is the 76th anniversary of the Yaoyinggou meeting of military and political carders of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA).

On this occasion, the Korean people are looking back upon great feats of President Kim Il Sung in leading the anti-Japanese revolution to victory under the banner of Juche, the banner of independence.

On March 27, Juche 24 (1935), the President convened the meeting in Yaoyinggou, Wangqing County of China and put forward a new strategic policy of relinquishing the guerrilla zones and launching out the KPRA units in wide areas.

At that time, the Japanese imperialists were encircling the guerrilla zones with huge troops for "punitive operations".

Nevertheless, the Left adventurists ignored the change in situation and indiscreetly persisted in defense of the guerrilla zones. Their position was as foolish as waiting for death.

The President made a clear-cut analysis of the situation at the meeting and set forth the afore-said policy to bridge over the severe crisis and bring about a fresh upsurge in the anti-Japanese revolution.

The justness of the policy was clearly proved through the ensuing development of the anti-Japanese national liberation struggle as a whole.

After the voluntary dissolution of the guerrilla zones, the KPRA started large-unit activities in south and north Manchuria and wide areas of Korea to overshadow the enemy's numerical and technical superiority.

During the activities, the KPRA grew larger and the advance of small units and political operatives into the homeland became frequent.
