STATEMENT OF THE ANTI-IMPERIALIST INDEPENDENT FRONT OF BRITAIN

STOP NATO'S AGGRESSION AGAINST LIBYA NOW!!!

The Anti-Imperialist Independent Front of Britain resolutely condemns the aggression by the colonialist powers assembled in NATO against the Great Socialist Peoples Libyan Arab Jamahiriya,starting from March 19th 2011.We,the anti-imperialists of Britain consider that the affairs of the Libyan people can only be determined by the citizens of Libya themselves, not by international conferences conducted in either London,Paris or Washington DC.

On September 1st, 1969 the Libyan people overthrew the client regime of neo-colonialism headed by King Idris and went on a course of genuine independence. Under the leadership of Mummar Gaddafi, Libya was transformed from a barren feudal land into a country with free education and universal health care. Libya today has eliminated the blights of illiteracy and poverty. Women since the revolution of 1969 have achieved complete equality with their male counterparts in Libyan society.

Far from being a dictatorship, Mummar Gaddafi has evolved a system of direct democracy under the present system of the Jamahiriya( State Of The Masses ). All aspects of Libyan society have been administered under the guidance of the Peoples Conferences and the Peoples Committees.In the area of foreign policy the Libyan Green Revolution has had a consistently anti-imperialist record, assisting all manner of national liberation movements across the world. The Libyan Leader Gaddafi has stood for the cause of Arab unity and has been a major influence in the building of the African Union.

Since the time of the nationalisation of Libya's oil assets,the imperialist countries have plotted the downfall of Gaddafi and the Libyan Revolution by any means necessary. Back in the 1980s the Reagan Administration launched air strikes using F1-11 fighter bombers,even killing the baby daughter of Mummar Gaddifi the during this bombing raid. The United States,Britain and France have a long record of hostility towards the Al Fateh Revolution and have had a desire to re-colonise Libya.

The concepts of independence,territorial integrity and national sovereignty have been utterly disregarded by the UN Security Council Resolution 1972.Whatever social and political system the Libyan people choose to have,international forums hosted in London are not the place for this kind of decision to be made.The future of the Libyan people must be determined by the people of that country.It is the height of hypocrisy for certain Middle Eastern absolute monarchies and theocracies to lecture Libya about human rights and democracy.

Bully Boy tactics cannot be allow to prevail in the area of diplomacy and in shaping Libya's destiny. NATO's guided missiles and precision bombs have been reigning terror upon the population of Tripoli,Misrata and other Libyan cities and villages. As with NATO 's other campaign of terror against the Republic of Serbia in 1999, civil installations and civilians are seen as legitimate targets by the imperialist air-forces. Any invasion attempt of Libya under whatever pretexts by NATO and its Arab puppets would lead to complete bloodshed.

The Anti-Imperialist Independent Front of Britain calls upon all peace campaigners and anti-imperialists activists to resist this outright aggression by NATO upon Libya and to help curb the outrageous interference into the country's internal matters by the neo-colonialists. We, the proponents of the ideals of Independence and Anti-imperialism in Britain, urgently demand a halt to this NATO attack against Libya and for the United Kingdom to stop its actions in support of this cosmopolitan-led offensives on Libya.
