Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- A seminar on the theme of "The Juche idea and its role in boosting Russia-DPRK friendship" was held in Saratov of Russia on Oct. 9 congratulating General Secretary Kim Jong Il on his reelection as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and its 65th birthday. Present there were figures of the Saratov Regional Committee of the Communist Workers' Party of Russia-Revolutionary Communist Party, the Saratov Association for the Study of the Juche Idea and Songun Policy and the Russian Saratov Anti-Imperialist Society for the Study of the Juche Idea and masses. A report was made by Kang Igor, chairman of the Russian Saratov Anti-Imperialist Society for the Study of the Juche Idea, at the seminar. The U.S. and its allies' interference in the affairs of the sovereign states is adversely affecting the national development of those countries, he said, adding that in this context the experience gained by the DPRK in its nation-building is very important. Barinov, vice-chairman of the Saratov Association for the Study of the Juche Idea and Songun Policy, said in his speech titled "The philosophical principle of the Juche idea:" When witnessing the reality of the DPRK leading the struggle for global independence, while protecting its sovereignty and dignity from the imperialist allied forces single-handed I came to keenly realize that though the DPRK is not a big country in its territory it is a politico-ideological power to be reckoned with. A resolution adopted at the seminar said that it presented itself as an urgent issue for Russia at present to apply the Juche idea and the Songun politics. It underscored the need to boost the bilateral ties in every way for the common prosperity of the two countries. Expressing full support and sympathy with the immortal Juche idea provided by President Kim Il Sung to progressive mankind, the resolution manifested the conviction that only victory and glory are in store for the Korean people as long as they advance under the banner of Songun. |
