Cesspool of Crime ,US Military bases in south Korea

Cesspool of Crime, US military bases in south Korea

Of late, broad sections of south Korea positively wage a drive to probe into the truth of the case of burying defoliant detrimental to health of the people in the US military bases in camera by the GIs.

The People’s Measure Council Demanding Probe into the Case of Defoliant Burial by the US Forces and Restoration of Polluted Environment composed of at least 80 organizations including the People’s Solidarity for Democratic Society, the Green Federation and the Korean Federation for Environmental Movement demanded comprehensive and thoroughgoing investigation into the US troops’ burying of defoliant in its Waegwan military base.

That day, the People for Peace and Reunification held a demonstration in front of the US military base in Yongsan in Seoul to denounce the US vicious move to evade responsibility of polluting environment.

They urged the US administration to make an open apology and revise the SOFA.

They expressed their will to conduct fiercer struggle against the US, chanting slogan “US troops, regarding south Korea as a garbage dump, withdraw!”

The workers under the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions held simultaneously rallies in front of US air base in Gunsan and other US military bases across south Korea.

Criticizing that the GIs’ atrocities since its occupation of south Korea are innumerable, they called on the workers to intensify the struggle against the US troops in unity with the broad sections of people.

Murder, violence, environmental pollution and war drills by the US troops are rampant in south Korea.

The AINDF and south Korean people will surely close the US military bases and withdraw the troops from south Korea by vigorously waging the struggle for independence against the US and against the Lee regime.
