Rodong Sinmun Reveals Danger of Imperialist Ideological and Cultural Poisoning

Pyongyang, January 9 (KCNA) -- To thoroughly check the imperialists' ideological and cultural poisoning is a very important issue for consolidating the political and ideological position of the revolution, says Rodong Sinmun Thursday in an article.
Upset by the people's intensified struggle for independence, the imperialist reactionary forces are attaching greater significance to the ideological and cultural poisoning and leaving no means untried to put it into practice, the paper says, and goes on:
What the imperialists are seeking in their ideological and cultural poisoning is to spread bourgeois idea and capitalist life-style to other countries.
The imperialists' idea and culture are based on an extreme selfishness which turns people into animal-like beings who would do anything to meet their own interests. Herein lies the danger of the imperialists' ideological and cultural poisoning.
The imperialists' ideological and cultural poisoning is a vicious reactionary offensive to undermine the faith of people in socialism.
If people harbor any illusion about capitalism, they will abandon their faith and be left ideologically disarmed.
The imperialists put efforts to spreading bourgeois idea and culture as they believe that this will prove effective with least efforts.
If one falls short of clearly understanding the essence and danger of the imperialists' ideological and cultural poisoning and fails to be vigilant against it, one will meet an irrevocably serious consequence.
The historical lesson proves that with the imperialists trying hard to spread the reactionary bourgeois idea and culture to the socialist countries, it becomes necessary to thoroughly check it and strengthen the work to arm all the members of society with the revolutionary idea. -0
