Text of Letter to the Morning Star about revisionist CPB statement on the Ukraine

Dear comrades ,

I read the statement "Stop the war - start the peace" ( Morning Star  25th February ) with a great deal of interest . Whilst the statement correctly points out that the Russian Federation is not a socialist country  , one part of the statement is truly horrendous and at best shows an extreme level of naivety , if not actual tacit support for US imperialism  I refer to the following "Where necessary and by agreement, UN peacekeeping forces should be stationed in Ukraine to protect communities from further attack. Western governments in the OSCE should reverse their withdrawal of observers from the country'. A UN peacekeeping force would simply be imperialist intervention under the cover of the UN flag . Everyone knows that the UN is controlled by the US .  In the past the US imperialists  waged a barbaric war against the Korean people  under the flag of the UN and in the early 1960s the US and other imperialist powers intervened in the newly independent state of Congo . UN involvement in the Ukraine would only serve US interests and would be a disaster .

   The statement also mentions the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe(OSCE )  , another imperialist sponsored entity which played a very negative role to say the least in Yugoslavia . OSCE came from the Helsinki Accords of the 1970s . Signing the Helsinki Accords was one of the former USSR's biggest mistakes ( there are many others ) . An OSCE presence in the Ukraine would only legitimise imperialist interference .

   At the end of the day the dispute between Russia and the Ukraine should be settled without any outside interference . What we should be saying is ; US  , NATO , EU and imperialism , out of the Ukraine ! Yes the Ukraine needs independence , it needs independence from the US , from NATO ,   from the IMF , World Bank and WTO !

Ever-mounting military drill (3/2022)

Publication of declaration on the situation

 

A few days ago, 456 leaders of religious and civil organizations published "declaration on the situation of religious and civil organizations desirous of peaceful Korean peninsula" to voters.

The inter-Korean hostility and military tension must be ended now. We must put an end to the era of war and division on the Korean peninsula and open new era of the peace, cooperation and reunification, they asserted in the declaration.

Let's put a brake on the policy which instigates war and confrontation and aims at arms buildup and armament competition to advance the democracy, peace and reunification on the Korean peninsula and concentrate power and efforts of the voters, they stressed saying this is the time for the voters.

Women's day in sorrow

Women's day in sorrow   March 8 is an international holiday for all women in the world. This should be the happiest day when women enjoy their rights to the full. However, south Korean women spend this day in sad tears. The percentage of employment of women is lowered year after year. Nevertheless, women suffer under the burden of toil in poor working conditions, are still threatened of wage discrimination, and liable to be sacked for marriage, pregnancy, childbirth, and so forth. Moreover, crime against women including sexual assault and date violence is becoming an extremely serious social problem. Countless women commit suicide, depressed by sexism, which is rampant in this society. Women are ignored in political circles. and their political views are treated with silent contempt, there are many unbearable discrimination and aversion including a differential wage rate system, sexual abuse and sexual objectification to be endured and fought against in woman's life, an activist for the protection of women's rights censured. They cannot but lament over their misfortune of womanhood in this unequal society. However, the DPRK women enjoy the same rights in all realms of political, economic and cultural life as men.   They are also provided with special favors as a woman. They give birth to their children without the least inconvenience and are given treatment gratis. Moreover, the triplets and their parents are provided with doctor in charge as well as dwelling house and necessities of life by the state. Thanks to the law and policy guaranteeing women's rights and respecting their individualities, all the women in the DPRK lead worthwhile and happy lives. When shall women in this land live decent lives enjoying women's rights and displaying their dignities? This is a unanimous desire of the south Korean women greeting the women's day.

 

Information from the AINDF about south Korea participating in War Exercises

According to information from the Pyongyang Mission of the AINDF , the south Korea authorities have persisted with aggressive and hostile actions against the DPRK which are  detailed below ;

"-The south Korean military wages one independent exercise after another since the beginning of this year.

It did independently conducted the military games including a large scale of artillery fire exercise, various kinds of maneuvers of air force and naval force, cold-endurance field training and mountain combined exercise of the army, navy and air forces, and special operation training in January.

It mobilized huge armed forces to stage the cold-endurance training, various kinds of military equipment control games, tactical drill and artillery fire exercise throughout south Korea.

-The south Korean military conducts all sorts of joint exercises in close cooperation with the US.

It was involved in "Sea Dragon", an antisubmarine rehearsal of multinational coalition conducted under the leadership of the US in the vicinity of Guam in January and "Cope North", a joint air combat drill conducted by the US, Japan, Australia and so forth over it in February.

Moreover, it took part in "Cobra Gold", a naval exercise of multinational coalition conducted under the baton of the US around Thailand waters and "MILAN-2022" led by the India.

It is going to stage a joint military game with the US.

-Japan, too, frequently conducts every kind of joint military exercise aimed at the north.

It did "Keen Edge-2022", a joint commanding exercise with the US, "Noble Fusion", a joint marine corps training with the US Marine Corps and "Resilient Shield", a computer-based simulation drill for defending against ballistic missile attack this year.

Frenzied military game conducted by south Korea, the US and Japan against the DPRK is a concentrated expression of hostile policy toward the north and a dangerous provocation act escalating military tension of the Korean peninsula.

It proves "peace" touted by them to be totally false."

A press conference for declaration of anti-US struggle

 

Of late, the 46th anti-US monthly meeting for dissolution of the south Korea-US alliance and withdrawal of the US troops from south Korea was held in the form of a press conference outside the US embassy in Seoul.

The press conference was held under the sponsorship of the preparatory committee of the national reunification meeting for independence and great unity of the nation. It made a fresh determination to wage a campaign for independent unification against the US in 2022 and strongly demanded the dissolution of the south Korea-US alliance, pullout of the US troops from south Korea, abandonment of the US hostile policy toward north Korea and permanent discontinuance of the joint south Korea-US war exercises.

Sharply criticizing the US and south Korean authorities' hostile actions against north Korea, the participants called for the people to take the road of national independence and break off relations with the US through an intense struggle for independence against the US in 2022.
