Rodong Sinmun Terms American-style Liberty Source of All Crimes

Pyongyang, November 23 (KCNA) -- American-style liberty serves as a universal view on value in U.S. society and mainstay of Americans' way of thinking, says Rodong Sinmun Friday in a bylined article.
It goes on:
Explicitly speaking, American-style liberty is source of all crimes.
American-style liberty is a corrupt view on value that stemmed from existentialism which has prevailed in U.S. society for a long period. Later it was formed amid the mixture of a myriad of trends of socio-political science and philosophy. The essence of liberty is extreme liberalism and individualism.
Americans like to do everything as they please any time and at any place. This is American-style liberty.
Such extreme freedom against humanity is institutionally guaranteed in the U.S. It claims American-style liberty abroad and pressurizes other countries to grant extraterritorial rights to Americans.
As a consequence, U.S. criminals are committing crimes while ignoring and mocking at people in south Korea, Japan, Afghanistan, etc.
Ceaseless cases of rape, plunder and gun-related crimes in the U.S. are typical examples of the consequences of American-style liberty.
This liberty in the U.S. serves as an ideological source which fosters social order governed by the law of jungle and the depraved lifestyle.
The U.S. foreign policy for aggression is also based on American-style liberty.
The U.S. shapes and enforces a foreign policy to meet the interests of monopoly plutocrats calling for unlimited freedom.
American-style liberty is, in fact, extreme self-indulgence, not freedom. Those countries which introduced American-style liberty into their politics are undergoing sufferings due to confusion in social life, the ruin of national custom, etc. It is quite natural that American-style view on value is rebuffed worldwide and the U.S. finds itself in hot water in the international arena. -0-

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Denounces Israel′s Attack on Gaza Strip

Pyongyang, November 23 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK gave the following answer to the KCNA Friday as regards Israel's large-scale military attack on the Gaza Strip of Palestine:
Recently Israel carried out indiscriminate missile attacks on the Gaza Strip for days from the air, land and sea, killing a number of innocent civilians.
This is an unpardonable criminal act of wantonly violating the sovereignty of Palestine and seriously harassing peace and security in the Middle East.
It is imperative for lasting peace in the Mid-east to end Israel's aggression and hostile acts and ensure the Palestinian people legitimate national right to found a sovereign state.
We strongly denounce Israel's gangster-like act and extend full support and solidarity to the Palestinians in their just cause.-0-

Let Us Build Workers’ World

Let Us Build Workers’ World

On November 11, there took place in Seoul under the sponsorship of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions an anti-regime struggle on the occasion of the 42nd death anniversary of Jon Tae-il who suicided by fire in protest against the misrule of the Park Chung –hee military fascist dictatorship.
Participating there were some 30,000 workers under the above-said confederation, members and assemblymen of opposition parties, various figures and organizations.
Holding placards reading “Repeal lay-offs, stop the destruction of trade unions and guarantee workers’ right to participate in politics”, the workers demonstrated their will to fight to the last against the anti-people politics of the regime chanting such slogans as “Jon Tae-il is still alive here!” and “Repeal the irregular jobs!”.
Then the participants held a rally at the plaza of Seoul Railway Station.
Speakers there deplored the reality saying that though many years have lapsed since Jon suicided by fire in protest against the anti-people labor policy, there is no improvement in the workers’ status.
Workers are waging the fierce struggles in various parts of south Korea for their right to existence demanding the restoration of the dismissed and the repeal of irregular jobs, they noted and stressed that all these struggles cannot triumph unless Lee Myung-bak and the “Saenuri Party” are ousted.
They asserted that now is high time that all people should turn out in the struggle to make a radical change of the society by concerted efforts.
Then a resolution was read out there to stress that they would build through struggles a society where basic labor rights are guaranteed and the workers become its masters.
It also demanded the authorities stop the moves to destroy trade unions, repeal the irregular jobs and lay-offs and guarantee political rights of the workers.
That day, the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions clarified that it would continue the anti-regime struggle including holding a candlelit rally for the guarantee of the workers’ franchise at Seoul Plaza on November 17 and a large-scale people's rally on December 8.

Sanction, Means of State Terrorism

Sanction, Means of State Terrorism

In recent years the U.S. is getting more undisguised in its sanctions against anti-imperialist independent countries.
The U.S. froze the properties of important personages and companies of Belarus under the pretext of human rights issue and worked out a list of objects of sanctions of Russia allegedly for its judicial and procuratorial system.
Amid the dispute between Sudan and South Sudan coming to a settlement, the U.S. extended sanctions against Sudan a year again under the pretext that the Darfur dispute and other issues are still hindering the normal relations.
It restricted the investment of foreign companies in Sudan and kept the properties of the Sudanese government and specific officials frozen.
Calling the peaceful nuclear activities of Iran to account, the U.S. together with European countries are escalating the financial and economic sanctions against this country.
The U.S. takes sanctions against those countries that reject the American view of value and pursue an independent management of state.
As is known, "color revolution" took place in different countries in East Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East from the late 20th century, giving rise to pro-U.S. governments there. Such an abnormal phenomenon was caused by the U.S. strategem to bring down the position of Russia which was hostile to the U.S.
Saying the U.S. sanctions exceed the economic category, experts are warning that they would exacerbate the political antagonism between nations.
Political confrontation caused by sanctions is regarded as a very dangerous factor that would create complexity in the state relations and even might trigger off a military clash.
There are many examples that a war was ignited by fierce political and economic disputes between countries.
Experts comment that U.S. sanctions are becoming a means of state terrorism instead of war.
The U.S. inflicted sanctions on Iraq first to weaken the country and then toppled down the Sadam Hussein government easily with military attack.
The U.S. ignited a war unexpectedly while imposing sanctions. It shows how sinister the U.S. was in its moves to consolidate its military position in the Middle East and dominate the strategic resources abundant in the region.
All facts clearly prove the U.S. sanctions are a product of its dominationist ambition aimed at overthrowing anti-imperialist independent countries.

Building World of Respect for Sovereignty Is Basic Requirement for Lasting World Peace

Pyongyang, November 17 (KCNA) -- It is the basic requirement for ensuring lasting world peace to build a world of respect for sovereignty, says Rodong Sinmun on Saturday in a bylined article.
Every country can achieve independence with an equal right when a new international order of respect for sovereignty is established, the article notes, and goes on:
High-handed and arbitrary practices and the application of double standards based on the logic of strength prevail and violations of sovereignty such as use of force and its threat and interference in internal affairs of other countries and sanctions against them are becoming evermore undisguised in the international relations at present.
The root cause of disturbing peace and stability is the imperialist forces' policy of aggression and war for infringing on and stamping out other countries' sovereignty.
Undisguised acts of aggression and war in various regions at present and the world's confusion are the consequences entailed by the aggression, wars and military intervention of the imperialists who regard it as pleasure to infringe upon the sovereignty of other countries by force of arms.
The more frantic aggression forces become in their moves to infringe upon the sovereignty of other countries, the more seriously the world peace and stability are threatened and disturbed. This is the lesson and truth taught by history.
It is a basic requirement for establishing an international order of respect for sovereignty to wage a dynamic struggle against imperialism.
Only when the imperialists' aggression and domination are brought to an end, is it possible to establish an international order of respect for sovereignty and build a new world, free and peaceful.
Genuine friendship and cooperation desired by peoples can come true in the world where sovereignty is respected.
Friendship and cooperation provide important conditions for ensuring harmony and unity among countries and nations and achieving common progress and prosperity.
If great power chauvinism and hegemony intended to oppress and dominate others and flunkeyism of kowtowing to big and developed countries, not believing in their own strength but looking upon others, are allowed in the relations among countries and nations, this will create inequality and discord among them and bar true friendly ties from being established among them.
Only when an international order whereby sovereignty of big or small countries is respected is established, is it possible to achieve harmony, unity and cooperation, as well as common progress and prosperity desired by people.
It is an important guarantee for building a new world, free and peaceful, where national sovereignty is respected for the anti-imperialist and independent countries to bolster up their capability for self-defence. -0-

Victory of Socialism Is Inevitability of History: Rodong Sinmun

Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) -- It is an inevitability of history that socialism is sure to triumph.
Rodong Sinmun Sunday says this in a bylined article.
Socialism is sure to triumph as it embodies the idea of the people, the article notes, and goes on:
It realizes the cherished desire of the popular masses to lead a peaceful and happy life in the society free from exploitation, oppression, domination and subjugation and guarantees their independent rights and dignity. It also realizes their ardent wish to conduct brisk creative activities to meet their independent requirements.
Only when they advance along the road of socialism, can they put an end to the unreasonable social relations which allow exploitation, oppression, domination and subjugation and fully realize their sovereignty.
Capitalism serves a tiny handful of monopolistic conglomerates, not the popular masses.
It panders to an unlimited greed of a tiny handful of monopolistic plutocrats, bringing social contradictions to extremes.
The workers are engaged in technical and mental labor in the developed capitalist countries at present, but they are still subject to exploitation and oppression by the capitalists.
That is why they harbor antipathy towards the capitalist society and wish to live independently free from domination of capital.
Not only jobless people but those workers having jobs and middle classes doing business with certain properties are turning out in demonstrations in the U.S. and other Western counties. This reality indicates that capitalism faces opposition and rebuff from broader popular masses.
The day will surely come when socialism, representing and guaranteeing the future of mankind, will triumph worldwide. -0-

Police Or Criminal?

Police Or Criminal?

Some days ago a policeman in New York named Valle, 28, talking with his friend, said he had planned to kidnap a woman at night and roast her to eat.
What matters is the fact that he had planned to slaughter not only her, but over 100 women.
He had listed in his computer their names, addresses, photographs and physical features.
What a crazy manslayer! His evil act makes all people shudder.
They wonder if such a madman can be in charge of security of human life and social order in New York.
It is not accidental that Americans call New York a breeding place of crime and a city of death.
The same is the case with all other cities.
In the U.S today the policemen who should protect the rights of people and ensure the security of society are notorious as main culprits of violence and human rights infringement.
During the anti-Wall Street demos last year mounted troops and helicopters were hell bent on crackdown, creating a horrible war atmosphere.
The police try to justify their murderous outrage as execution of their official duties.
Americans brand them as torture police, murder police, tyrant police, scandal police, Mafia police and the like.
In the U.S gangsters and policemen are committing all kinds of outrages everyday on the strength of power.
American society is a pandemonium of crimes.

Deserved Treatment-Rodong Sinmun

Deserved Treatment

Hillary, U.S. Secretary of State was confronted with a strong protest of the local people in Beograd, Serbia.
The demonstrators occupied the plaza in front of the parliament building and shouted anti-U.S. slogans.
Hillary arrived in Beograd because of the relations between this country and Kosovo.
It is a diplomatic usage that a visitor with good will is welcomed as a state guest.
But she was given cold reception from Serbians.
It was because she visited Serbia in order to put pressure upon this country to recognize the agreements concluded with Kosovo.
Her visit to Serbia was not for this country, but for the U.S. demand for division.
A gimlet in the bulging bag is bound to protrude.
Hillary's cry about peace and improved relations triggered off only anti-U.S. protest.
It is natural that big wigs of the U.S. under the cloak of international mediation should be treated so poorly in all places of the world.
